What is Home Care?
Home Care, (AKA, domiciliary care, social care, in-home care, non-medical care, custodial care, or private-duty care), is supportive care provided in the home by caregivers who assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) such as bathing, eating, cleaning, and preparing meals to help a client to stay at home and maintain their independence and existing lifestyle, versus living in a facility. Caregivers, like those at Heartfelt Home Care Services, work to support the needs of individuals who require such assistance, or are in need of companionship. In-home care is often a lower cost solution to long-term care facilities or privately paid Home "Health" Services.
What is the difference between "Home Care" and "Home Health Care"?
Heartfelt Home Care Services, an In-Home Care Agency, works closely together with Home Health Care Agencies, which require a doctor's order for medical services for patients recovering from an illness, surgery, or those needing ongoing medical attention while living in their home. Home healthcare agencies provide "skilled services" such as nursing, social services, and therapeutic treatments (physical, speech, occupational therapy).
